چکیده

Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading cereal worldwide and staple food of many countries, is multipurpose crop used for human food, animal feed industry purposes. has wider genetic adaptability to grow under different agro-ecological environments. 29 48 DH lines derived from MPS 1 2, respectively, were crossed with more than one testers belonging opposite heterotic in L x T fashion. The resultant double haploid testcrosses, their parents evaluated along checks during kharif (in South Asia: the autumn sown at beginning summer rains) 2019 three locations. Among female MPS1, line ZL19337 was identified as good general combiner registered significant negative GCA effect days 50 per cent anthesis silking. While, ZL19641 ZL19357 recorded significantly positive plant height grain yield, respectively. ZL19492 effects anthesis, Similarly, lines, ZL19534 ZL19572 combiners yield ear position, ZL1840 silking CAL14113 yield. VL1010996 silking, height, position 2. Hybrid ZH2063 exhibited desired SCA ZH2010 specific 1. ZH20158 desirable trait ZH20251 ZH20183

Potassium Management for Improving Growth and Grain Yield of Maize (Zea mays L.) under Moisture Stress Condition

Potassium (K) fertilizer management is beneficial for improving growth, yield and yield components of field crops under moisture stress condition in semiarid climates. Field experiments were conducted to study the response of maize (Zea mays L., cv. Azam) to foliar and soil applied K during summer 2013 and 2014. The experiments were carried out at the Agronomy Research Farm of The University of...

Estimation of heterosis for grain yield components in Maize (Zea mays L.)

Heterosis plays an important role in achieving improvement in crop production. About 69 F 1 hybrids obtained by crossing twenty three lines and three testers in a line × tester fashion were used to derive the information on degree of heterosis over mid, better and standard parent in maize. Sixty nine crosses and their parents including one check CoH(M)5 were evaluated in a Randomized Block Desi...

T Evaluation of genes effect and combining ability in selected maize (Zea mays L.) lines

Maize is one of the most important grain and forage plants that has a unique role in the food and feed, especially poultry feed. To study the genetic effects, genes act and identify the best hybrid combination for morphological traits, experiment was carried out in diallel cross layout using 19 parents at Gorgan Agricultural Research Station, Iran in 2013. The progenies were planted in three re...

Allozyme Frequency Changes Associated with Selection for Increased Grain Yield in Maize (ZEA MAYS L.).

Frequency changes of alleles at eight enzyme loci were monitored in four long-term maize selection experiments. The results indicate that changes in frequencies of the alleles at these loci are associated with changes due to selection for improved grain yield. The frequencies changed more than is consistent with the hypothesis of selective neutrality. In addition, significant deviations from a ...
